About Us

Sigma Plus is a non-governmental non-profit organisation founded in 2004 to achieve the goals of developing the quality of life and work of citizens. It engages in the promotion of equal opportunities and gender equality, actively participates in the creation and implementation of local sustainable development strategies, encourages vulnerable groups of citizens to participate in local development programs.
Sigma Plus is a team of enthusiastic, dedicated people, willing to invest their knowledge and experience in building society where each individual can grow to his/her potentials. Sigma Plus is based in Nis, Serbia, but the area of operations is throughout the country.

Implemented projects

Since 2018 Assistance to Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Serbia, with a financial support of UNHCR.
This project aims to support inclusion and local integration for refugees and asylum seekers accommodated in reception centers in SE Serbia and Asylum Centers (AC): Sjenica and Tutin in Western Serbia, through cultural mediation and human rights monitoring.

July 2019-March 2020 Route’ services, in partnership with NGO Nova Generacija, BiH, with a financial support of Arbeiter- Samariter-Bund Deutschland e.V. through IRIS Network
The project activities are aimed at creating conditions for improving the quality of services provided to migrants in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

July 2017-Oct.2018 Net Support, with a financial support of Fondacija Ana i Vlade Divac through Help on the Route Network
Project activities are aimed to strengthening the resources of the Association in order to provide efficient and quality services to migrants in the area of achieving and protect their rights. Sensitization of target group will strengthen their capacities to make themselves more empowered to recognize the violation of rights and ask for help to protect them.

May-Oct.2018 Every child. It’s important! with a financial support of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung
The overall objective is improving the position of children from the migrant population of school age in Pirot and Bela Palanka through increased awareness level of children’s parents from the domicile population about understanding cultural differences; increased awareness of children’s parents from the migrant population about the importance of regular education; sensitizing the public on the right of every child to education regardless of ethnic, national or religious affiliation.

Dec.2017-May 2018 Supporting the Empowerment of Migrant Women and Girls, with a financial support of RS Commissariat for Refugees and Migration
The project activities involved migrant women in the centers of Pirot and Bosilegrad with the aim of empowering them and improving their knowledge and skills in making handicrafts. They produce practical and usable items for personal use, or can offer them at sales bazaars. By participating in bazaars organized by local associations, we promote intercultural exchange and tolerance towards the migrant population.

Nov.2016-June 2017 Capacity building within the project Support for Local Response to Refugee Crisis, with a financial support of Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac
Main objectives are: improving the skills and knowledge of employees; improving visibility / networking; promotion of volunteerism; development of strategic documents.

Jan.2006-Dec.2017 Network of Mobile Teams for Assistance to Extremely Vulnerable Individuals, with a financial support of UNHCR
The objective is to improve living conditions for refugees from former Yugoslav republics and internally displaced people who live in private accommodation and collective centers in a manner to initiate and support their better social integration and create the conditions for accessing their guaranteed rights in the sphere of social, educational and health care, both at the national and local levels.

Dec.2005-Nov.2006 Diversion Schemes, Center for Mediation Nis, in partnership with CSW Nis, with a financial support of Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs and UNICEF.
The objective is to diverse juveniles who committed the offense, from Court proceedings through mediation between the victim and the perpetrator. Also, to educate mediators and peer mediators and establish Protocol of proceedings between 5 competent Ministries.
